Birth chart context for current transits

A birth chart records the calculated positions for a particular time and place. Astro Legacy uses that chart as the reference layer for current planetary transits.

What a birth chart contains

A natal chart records zodiac positions for the Sun, Moon, planets and additional points at a calculated moment. A house system adds twelve houses and the ASC–DESC and MC–IC axes. Aspects describe angular relationships between positions.

These layers answer different questions: a planet identifies the function, the sign describes its style, the house gives an area of experience, and an aspect shows how two functions interact. Reading only one layer produces a flatter interpretation.

Why the chart matters for transits

A transit becomes personal when a moving position is compared with a natal target. Transiting Saturn square natal Venus, for example, contains different information from Saturn simply being in a zodiac sign. Astro Legacy therefore calculates the natal chart first and uses it as a stable reference for the selected horizon.

Accuracy and birth time

The date, local time, coordinates and timezone all belong to the input. If the time is unknown, Astro Legacy uses noon and marks the result as approximate for houses and angles. This is useful for exploring slower planetary relationships, but it is not a substitute for a verified birth time.

Common questions

Is a birth chart the same as transits?

No. The natal chart is the reference map. Transits describe moving positions in relation to that map.

Does one placement define a person?

No. A chart is interpreted as a system. Avoid reducing a person to a Sun sign, one house or one challenging aspect.

Can two house systems change the result?

They can change house cusps and some house placements. Planetary zodiac longitudes remain the same for the same moment. See house systems and birth time.
